Below are links to the booklists I’ve created for my own children, students, and friends within our Catholic Schoolhouse chapter and broader homeschool community. I love discovering new stories to enthrall a reluctant reader, challenge a rhetoric student, or add some fun to our read aloud time. These titles accompany our historical timeline, beginning during the Renaissance and progressing to the modern era. Peruse and enjoy!

The Picture Book List

This booklist is an extensive one I compiled to correlate with my children’s work in their classical co-op. Weekly picks for each subject are included to enhance their memory work.

The Short List (for little ones)

Here are my favorite picks to connect to your Catholic Schoolhouse or other co-op studies, with an emphasis on the fine arts and history! These are the picture books I most highly recommend, to maximize your time if you have lots of little ones or want to simply purchase a few titles for the year.

Graphic Novels & Easier Reads

One of my children is an emerging reader this year, so I compiled this list of easy chapter books and graphic novels, to peak his interest and provide older-looking titles as he hones his reading skills.

The Middle School List

Here is the jam-packed list of exciting historical fiction, to easily supplement any historical or literary unit. A few of these titles are more literary in nature but most focus on featuring adventures and thrills, along with endearing and resilient characters, to add some spice to your middle schooler’s history course.

Rhetoric Recommendations

Wondering what classics might pair well with your rhetoric student’s curriculum? Here are the best titles to bolster their literature study while accompanying the whole family’s study of world history.
