The feast of Epiphany is a beautiful to reflect upon how much we truly see and how much meaning we miss. What beautiful inner words need to remain with us as we return to our ordinary, busy days?

………………………………………………..

The Word’s Smile

The thickest gloom of winter nights lay shattered

Lanced by the sparkle of a star.

A cacophony: bestial grunts and human grumbles,

Attune to angelic hopes!

See angst by hymns disbarred.

Arrested are fear and self,

Pride frozen,

Slain by

the Word’s smile.

Hush!

……….

while

the Word breathes,

Music sighs,

Love lubes the life too hard.

The mesmerized mind must humble,

Things with feathers fly far,

And my soul shall dance to the stars.
